Work Experience

Constantinos is currently the managing director and founder of C.Kounnis & Partners Ltd which specializes in audit, tax and advisory work.  He is leading the audit engagements of a number of high-profile companies in Cyprus across a range of sectors including hospitality, media, real estate, retail, and finance. He is also an experienced tax practitioner and offers professional advice on effective international tax structuring, corporate reorganizations, and estate planning.

He is also teaching advanced international taxation to ACCA and ADIT students of the University of Nicosia. He has also undertaken a number of one off advisory projects including the valuation of an oil and gas entity, the feasibility plan for a wellness centre in Cyprus, the business plan for a student accommodation project in Nicosia and consultancy work for a major hotel in Cyprus  Finally, Constantinos has acted as an insolvency practitioner on a number receivership case assigned to him by the Bank of Cyprus. Prior to founding C.Kounnis & Partners Ltd, Constantinos had spent 2 years with KPMG, Nicosia and 4 years with Deloitte, London where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Education/Qualifications

Constantinos is a Cambridge University graduate with a degree in Economics and a Fellow Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) as well as the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC)

He holds the prestigious ADIT qualification (Advanced Diploma in International Tax) with Distinction, ranking amongst the first 10 worldwide candidates in 2017. His scripts for 2 out of the 3 papers, Principles in International Taxation and EU VAT have been published on the Institute’s website as recommended candidate scripts. Furthermore, he is an affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the United Kingdom. He is also a licensed Insolvency Practitioner and he was ranked 1st in the Sept-2016 Insolvency Practitioner exams.

Other

Constantinos is married with 2 kids. In his spare time, he loves playing tennis. He is a musician from an early age and he enjoys playing the piano, the saxophone and the bouzouki.
